Learn to ride with us! We offer lessons for the recreational rider and the novice competitor, from age 4+. Our program is designed to educate riders in horsemanship, riding skills, and stable management in a safe and friendly atmosphere. Riders can earn CHA Levels after completing a written and practical test, and the Girl Guides Horsepower badge!
At NWF, safety is an important feature of all our programs. Our lesson horses are competent mounts that undergo regular assessment. We follow Ontario’s Horseback Rider’s Safety Act, where all our riders are required to wear ASTM/SEI approved helmets and heeled boots.
Schooling shows and gymkhanas throughout the year give students who wish to compete a chance to demonstrate their horsemanship abilities in a fun and low-stress learning environment. They can also meet other horse people in our area. We are members of the Lakehead Light Horse Association, Certified Horsemanship Association, and the Ontario Equestrian Federation.
